Me2everyone

I'm a trend watcher when it comes to spotting sites which are drastically increasing in traffic. Over the last 6-8 weeks a site with no traffic and just 10 members has increased to one ranking 20,000 in Alexa and having over 200,000 members. The site is Me2Everyone.com. Profliles at my buddies webpage: Me2everyone Blog Post. The site is unique in that it supposedly will offer members a part of the company.

So what is the company? Me2everyone is a website that claims will launch a front end similar to that of Myspace.com or Facebook. It will also have features of the online world SecondLife. When you signup to Me2everyone, which is free by the way, you will receive 1000 shares in the company. You also get 500 shares for referring freinds, family, relatives.

So how valuable will the shares be worth? Well, considering that there will be 18 billion (Yes, 18,000,000,000) shares outstanding, 1000 shares is not giving you a very large portion of the Me2everyone company. Having said this, they predict huge growth in the company, and we have already seen this in their ability to attract 200,000 members in 7 weeks. We will have to see if this is some sort of scam, or a legitimate idea. Members of Talkgold are discussing the program at: http://www.talkgold.com/forum/r245748-.html.

Anyway I guess it can;t hurt to sign up for free. They were sellign upgraded memberships which I would advise against purchasing sicne you don't know the creators of the site from Adam.

GotoBullion - Opinions?

Well, within the last few days a new Multi Level marketing program called GotoBullion which is located at the website Gotobullion.com has launched.

So, is it worth taking a look at? I usually don't involve myself in many marketing programs because I just don't have the time. This one caught my eye, sort of because of it's weird combination rewarding members with Gold Bullion and Travel vouchers. Not sure how they came up with this combination, but it does look like the folks at GotoBullion have taken their time to set up a well planned out Multi-Level Marketing program. Provided below are links to forums discussing this MLM:

GotoBullion At MMG
GotoBullion At Talkgold

So how does the program work exactly? I'll just give a brief overview of it and allow you to goto the site to figure out the specific details. Gotobullion charges members $29.99 monthly, in which they will receive monthly a Travel voucher worth $299 (they claim at least). Members are then rewarded in both Gold bullion, as well as additional travel vouchers for people they refer to the MLM. More info from their site:
Cost: 29.99 p/month... and get this, every month when your
subscription renews, your given another position. If there
are 5,000 members paying each month, that's another 5,000
positions PUSHING positions UP, plus all the positions that
are given 3 additional positions on advancement... See, I
told you it's continuous!!
Anyway, I just thought I'd mention this program since it is getting quite a bit of talk around the various forums, and in fact is being spammed via email. Just be caution with all MLM's as they are sometimes borderline scammy, but if you understand how they work and promote them well you get make a little cash, or in this cash travel vouchers and gold.

Oil Prices to Double in 24 Months - Prediction

Alright, I know Oil has been pounded down lately. From over $150 a barrel just last year to $35-$40 a barrel as I write this blog post. Just like their was a bubble last year when speculators rushed into oil pushing it up to unbelievable level, the poor economy and reverse bubble has caused it to be pushed to unbelievably low levels now. Just like Speculators were investing in oil, pushing demand up greater than the actual supply needed to fulfill oil use, this time short sellers are selling more oil then there are buyers (users).

Oil is unlike other investments like stocks and bonds in that it is also a commodity. Under normal circumstances the price is determined by the supply that Opec and other oil producing nations make available, and the demand the world economy has on it to run automobiles, factories, etc. When Speculators (investors) enter a commodity market it can drive prices away fromt he normal equillibrium.

So, what do I predict? I predict that as the World economies begin exitting recession mode by the end of this year, demand for oil will increase, while the short sellers start covering their positions. This along with the fact that supply stockpiles will be low, prices of oil could easily rebound to the $80-100+ range within the next 18-24 months. Thats a quick 100-150% gain in months, not years.

Bernanke Says Recession over by Years End

Yesterday The Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke stated that he feels the recession will be over by the end of this year. That in of of itself seems liek a bold move, however, the stock market didn't react liek I think it should have.

Even though the DOW went up 250 point after those comments, it has fallen back down today. If in fact the recession does end before 2009 is over, stocks surely will have an amazing comeback. The market is already undervalued, down 50% from it's highs 2 years ago. The Stock market is usually 6 months forward looking which would put us at around August of this year in terms of where the market is looking out to. I'm going to call this and say, the DOW will Not see 6900, and by December of this year we will be looking at at least a Dow of 9200.

The amount of pessimism out there, mostly brought on by the media as well as Obama's negativity he was spewing in order to get the Recovery act and his stimulation plan pushed through congress, has devalued the market much mroe then it should be. Is it a buying opportunity?

Dow 7200 - What to Buy

Helping to manage several Investing forums I am constantly getting emails from members wondering if and when they should start considering the purchase of stocks.  The Dow is at 50% of where it was at its peek just a couple years ago.  That means if the market goes back up to it's highs, whether it be 1, 2, 5, or 10 years, an investment today would mean doubling your money, plus whatever you get with dividends.

There are some great dividend stocks out there paying 5-10% returns.  These companies are also fairly safe, and probably will not be reducing their dividends unless we have an economic catastrophy:

BP - 8.36% dividend.  A solid oil play
PPG - 6.5% dividend.  Protective coating manufacturer
INTC - 4.5% dividend. Pretty much the only computer chip maker besides AMD. Growth Stock as well.

I like dividend stocks in markets like this because even if the market goes down further, you are still earning a solid return.   The stocks pay you to hold them, so you will be earning while you wait for the equity in the stocks to go up.

I personally think we have at least coem close to a bottom here, and things will slowly pick up in the equity markets.  As always, be cautious though.

Domain Names Price Decreases

The recession is affecting just about every world market there is, including that of the high value domain segment. Domain names continue to decrease in value according to my personal portfolio evaluations I have been doing. Primary price decreases are led by the simple fact that liquidible cash is not available like it was just 6-12 months ago. Another cause of devaluation can be the lower parking revenue due to the lack of advertisers feeding the parking company with quality high prices advertisement.

The average 3 letter .com domain is selling at $6900 (in the past 4 weeks). This is compared to $9800 just 6 months ago. This represent a devaluation of almost 30%. Considering the stock market has fallen nearly 40% in the same time period, and home prices have fallen about 40% as well in the last 3 years, this is not all that bad.

We predict this downward trend to continue for the 1st quarter, and then a gradual increase from April onwards as the economy in general will begin showing signs of a recovery.
